“Don’t trust your gut.”

amy magers blog Jan 28, 2021

A lot of people will say, "Oh, my gut says my gym's doing really well."
"My gut says my academy's growing."
Worse, here's my husband's move.
"My gut says our academy's doing terribly," because our guts lie to us all the time.

They lie to us constantly.
For a lot of these external types of things, external variables, external people, people that you hear on Facebook who are telling you how bad everything is, you might start thinking, "Oh gosh, I bet my gym's doing not well."

But you go back to the numbers and you're like, "You know what? My closing percentage is 78%.
My show rate's 80%. Yeah, I could increase my leads, but my percentages are good.
My systems are strong. Everything's okay.
The sky's not falling, everything's going to be all right."

One of the things that numbers does is it helps you to understand two things, two truths that I love and swear by.
1. Things are never as good as they seem and
2. Things are never as bad as they seem.

When you look at numbers, it keeps you pretty much in the center.
