So much to do, so little time?

How do you plan to have an effective, efficient, productive day tomorrow?

I will share a really quick strategy I’ve been doing for some time now.

Now the official rule on this is, do not make a big deal out of this.

Don't go and get a notebook.

Don't go and get some special journal.

Just take the notes section of your phone, as soon as you're done reading this.

Jot down quick, top of mind, three to five things that you need to get done tomorrow in order to have a productive day.

Remember this, work can be done and organized in one of two ways.

You can either organize your work day by time, like an hourly worker, or you can organize it by task, like a salaried worker.

Time blocking, if you’re curious, is simple:

  • Add all your daily or weekly tasks to a to-do list
  • Select specific time slots in your calendar and reserve them for the tasks
  • Work on the tasks during the prescribed time blocks, and aim to complete them before it’s time for the next time block

I used to be a really big time blocker and I want to be, I like to be, but it's just not working for me right now because I'm homeschooling my kids, everybody's at home, and just working at the same times that I used to is just not working for me right now. So I have to go back from being a time blocker to a person who can be very, very task oriented and work when I have the opportunity to work. This is why I list 3-5 things I need to absolutely get done every day that would make me feel like I won the day before going to bed at night.

You want to hold yourself accountable to getting something accomplished.

You don't have to go and change the world today, but you can do some things that make you feel good about what you did during the day.

Get it done and observe how it made you feel after you getting all these stuff out of your way…
