1.35 billion - that's the number of people actively posting and engaging on Instagram and Instagram stories!

As a business owner, Instagram stories is one place you simply can't overlook.

Aside from IG stories being fun and full of character, it's also a unique way of capturing your audience's attention. It's a great tool to attract new followers, build customer loyalty and provide great customer interaction.

Today, we're sharing 4 best practices when posting to your IG stories.
These simple tips will surely improve and maximize your audience reach.

Do not OVER POST! - Delmondo conducted a study and found out that 7 story slides is the average optimal number of IG story content that engages and retains audience. Anything more than that may cause your audience to exit your stories and watch the next one.

Post your best stories content first - Similar to how marketers create good copy, a great 'hook' at the start of your Instagram stories is the best way to keep your audience from exiting and swiping next. Make the first slide interesting by adding cool GIFs, teaser-type intros or anything that would spark your audience's interest and curiosity.

Post consistently on Instagram Stories - If you want to stand out from your competitors, you need to 'be seen everywhere online'. IG stories is a great platform to keep your fans and audience updated of what you are up to. Instagram algorithm is also designed to show your stories to your consistent viewers first so make sure you keep them 'happy' with your content.

Allow replies and story sharing on your Instagram stories- this allows your followers/story viewers to reply or send a quick emoji reaction for to your stories. This not only creates a great customer engagement but also a cue for the algorithm to keep showing your stories to this person. WIN!

You also have the option to share your IG stories to your Facebook page from here. Go for it and share. This will help you save so much time and hit two birds with one stone.

Study your own data - Post consistently for 15 days and after that, look at your own analytics. Check your data and see which types of stories get more views, more clicks, exits, impressions, etc. To check this data, go to your profile > tap the insights action button (You can also go to Menu in the upper right corner, and tap Insights.) > tap the metrics under the Overview section  or specific content you’ve shared for a more detailed breakdown.
